Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace

Denis I. Finn Solicitors have settled a High Court case regarding bullying and harassment in the workplace.

Our client was subjected to a campaign of bullying, harassment, victimisation and  intimidation in the workplace. The client was a senior operative in his role but following a dispute with the Managing Director was subsequently allocated humiliating and menial tasks totally incommensurate with his level of experience. The Plaintiff sought to invoke the Company’s grievance procedure but was denied access to such process when he was provided with less than 24 hours notice of his appeal hearing and was refused the opportunity to bring an advisor with him, contrary to the terms of the grievance procedure. The Plaintiff suffered from depression as a result and was subsequently dismissed by the Defendant Company.

The matter came before the High Court in April 2017 and was settled prior to hearing.
